For more than 16 months, Chester County has been serving as the public health lead for Delaware County on the COVID-19 pandemic, and last week, it was announced that the agreement between the two counties will come to an end on Aug. 1. State lawmakers announce more than $475K in grants for Ridley Township

HARRISBURG, July 7 – In an effort to improve infrastructure, including alleviating traffic congestion, state lawmakers announced Ridley Township has been approved for a pair of grants through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s “ Green Light-Go ” program. “The ‘Green Light-Go’ program rewards municipalities for identifying areas where traffic flow and safety can be improved,” said Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware. “Ridley Township should be applauded for taking the proactive steps needed to receive reimbursement for work that will better our communities.” Ridley Township has been approved for a pair of projects, including: $65,532 for upgraded detection at the Stewart Avenue & I-95 interchange. $417,576 for upgraded detection and pedestrian signals at several intersections ( Morton Avenue and 9th Avenue; Fairview Road and Parklane Road; Fairview Road and Jefferson Avenue). “Ridley Township addressed an issue that continues to pop up in cities and municipalities across our state,” said Rep.
