FOLSOM, March 18 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, today issued the following statement regarding allegations of abuse at the Delaware County Juvenile Justice Center: “News of abuse at the Delaware County Juvenile Justice Center is appalling and heartbreaking. As a society, we have a responsibility to keep every kid safe. And, as a mother, I believe every parent has a right to know that their child will be cared for, even in the most vulnerable situations. When children find the courage to speak their truths, we must believe them. This matter must be investigated, and I am thankful to Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, who has committed to do so.” Read more

We passed a similar bill earlier this year but an error by the Department of State on public posting meant that it could not appear on this May's primary ballot. This week's bill is an effort to get it back on track for the May primary ballot and deliver justice to survivors. Read more
