Webster commends $19,000 grant awarded to Playcrafters of Skippack

(Mar 15, 2022)

HARRISBURG, March 15 – State Rep. Joe Webster, D-Montgomery, today announced the awarding of $19,000 in grant funding poised to enhance and propel the theatre arts in the 150 th Legislative District. The grant was awarded through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and will go towards vital repairs to the Playcrafters of Skippack’s building. For over 70 years Playcrafters of Skippack has staged plays and musicals for and with members of the community. “Providing a space where individuals can pursue their passions for the theatre arts, while simultaneously supplying affordable, family friendly entertainment, continues to have positive implications for our community,” Webster said. “This grant funding will make certain that necessary maintenance is performed to the Playcrafters building so the shows can continue to go on unabated.” The award will be used to offset the cost of necessary repairs to the building including renovations to the HVAC system and rehabilitating an outdoor staircase, along with cosmetic upgrades. Webster said supporting the humanities, such as theater arts, is a great way to strengthen communities and leads to a greater understanding of each other. (Jan 20, 2022)

HARRISBURG, Jan. 20 – Members of the LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus are introducing legislation that would destigmatize and create a safer and easier name-change process for LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians, especially transgender, non-binary and gender expansive people in the commonwealth.
