Pennsylvania Department of Transportation: Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside

Who May Apply: Local, county, and tribal governments, transit agencies, schools, school districts, nonprofits, and small Metropolitan Planning Organizations.

Use: Transportation alternatives, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation, and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation, and trails that serve a transportation purpose.
Funds: $28 million in statewide funds will be available from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development: Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) Program

Who May Apply: Municipalities, Councils of governments, Businesses, Economic Development Organizations, Public Transportation Agencies, Ports – Rails/Freight

Use: The program provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable system of transportation is available. Projects that coordinate local land use with transportation assets, enhance streetscapes, lighting, sidewalks or pedestrian safety, improve connective or utilization of existing transportation assests, or relate to transportation aspects of transit-oriented development are eligible to apply.
Funds: Grants are available for projects with a total cost of $100,000 or more.  Grants shall not exceed $3,000,000 for any project.

Pennsylvania Department of Education: Paraeducator Preparation Pathways Grant

Who May Apply: To apply, an Intermediate Unit must partner with at least one Pennsylvania community college and at least one LEA (school district, approved private school, career technical education center, charter school, cyber charter school, or chartered school for the deaf or blind).

Use: Establish or expand opportunities for practicing paraeducators in Pennsylvania schools to become special education teachers at no cost while actively learning and working in their school
Funds:
$1.5 million, with applicants able to request up to $50,000

Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency: Endowment Act – Treatment Training

Who May Apply: For-profit entity, non-profit entity, entity affiliated with a CAC or MDIT, or unit of local government (including schools, colleges, and universities).

Use: Increase the number of trainings that will help medical and mental health providers who treat victims/survivors of child sexual abuse meet National Children’s Alliance (NCA) accreditation standards and support trainings in evidence-based programming/practices for medical and mental health providers who treat victims/survivors of child sexual abuse.
Funds: A total of $200,000 in Endowment Act funding is being announced to support this initiative. PCCD expects to fund approximately four projects with budgets not to exceed $50,000. Applicants can budget for up to a 2-year project period.

Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission: Historical & Archival Records Care Program

Who May Apply: Historical record repositories (historical societies, libraries, universities, local governments, school districts)

Use: Collections care, including surveying; inventorying; preserving; arranging; and describing historical records significant to Pennsylvania, as well as for records reformatting and equipment
Funds: Individual grants will be funded up to $5,000 with no match required. Collaborative grants will allow two organizations to apply jointly for up to $10,000 or three organizations to apply collaboratively for up to $15,000, no match required. Funding is provided by PHMC.

Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency: Regional Policing Assistance Program

Who May Apply: Applicants for the Regional Policing Assistance Program may be any municipality – a city, borough, township, home-rule municipality, or county. Applicants may also be a public or quasi-public body, or its representative, duly authorized to act on behalf of one or more municipalities. All applications must be accompanied by fully executed Articles of Agreement or an Intergovernmental Agreement that establishes a Regional Police Department.

Use: Funding will support efforts in establishing or expanding regional police departments that would improve the following: uniformity and consistency of enforcement across municipalities; recruitment; distribution and deployment of police personnel; training and personnel efficiency; career enhancement opportunities; enhanced professionalism; and reduction of costs.
Funds: A total of approximately $1,000,000 in federal funds is being announced to support this initiative. Applicants may apply for up to $150,000 for the formation of a new regional police department or up to $50,000 for the expansion of an existing regional police department by adding a chartered municipality(ies).

Environmental Protection Agency: Solar for All

Who May Apply: States, municipalities, tribal governments, or eligible non-profit recipients.

Use: The Solar for All competition will fund applicants applying to expand existing or develop new Solar for All programs. A Solar for All program is a program that ensures low-income households have access to residential rooftop and residential-serving community solar energy, often through providing financial support and other incentives.
Funds: The EPA anticipates awarding up to 60 awards for a total of $7,000,000,000.

Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency: Housing Options Grant Program

Who May ApplyNon-profits and developers.

Use: To help continue affordable housing production in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Funds: $100 million in total program funding.  

Application Deadline: All grants should be awarded no later than December 31, 2024. All funds must be expended by December 31, 2026.

Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner: Fire and Emergency Medical Services Loan Program

Who May ApplyFire and emergency medical services companies.

Use: To support the acquisition, rehabilitation, or improvement of apparatuses, facilities, and equipment.

Funds: Loans up to $486,000.  

Application Deadline: Rolling application.
