Rep. Frank Burns October 11, 2018 | 4:16 PM
HARRISBURG, Oct. 11 – Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, today joined members of Pennsylvania House of Representatives in passing legislation that calls to expand the PACENET prescription-drug coverage income limits, allowing for an additional 17,000 seniors to be eligible for the program.
“I know many seniors who are struggling,” said Burns. “Because of this bill, thousands of senior citizens will no longer have to decide between food, heat, rent, or the medicine they need.”
Under H.B. 270, the income limit for PACENET prescription-drug coverage for a single person would increase from $23,500 to $27,500; for married couples it would go from $31,500 to $35,500.
“The Senate needs to pass this bill before the end of the year,” Burns said. “I voted to expand the PACENET program because I know many people in the 72nd Legislative District who will benefit from this long-overdue change.”
House Bill 270 now moves to the Senate for consideration.
