PENNSYLVANIA BEAGLE BILLS

Pennsylvania can do much better in protecting animals being bred and used for research in Animal Testing Laboratories and from kennels and dealers who face serious or multiple citations under the Animal Welfare Act.

These “Beagle Bills” restricted the import and sale of animals from kennels and dealers who had serious or multiple citations under the federal Animal Welfare Act, required those breeding dogs and cats for medical or scientific experimentation to keep records, enhanced animal adoption and closed loopholes that prevented cruelty to animal charges in Virginia’s laws.

Email Body:

I urge you to support and protect dogs and cats being bred, sold or used for research in animal testing laboratories in Pennsylvania and from kennels and dealers who face serious or multiple citations under the Animal Welfare Act.  Other states, like Virginia, has passed bills that have rescued thousands of beagles from unsafe kennels and enabled adoptions from these facilities.

Please do what you can to help turn these “Beagle Bills”  into law.   They would also restrict the import and sale of animals from kennels and dealers who had serious or multiple citations under the federal Animal Welfare Act, require those breeding dogs and cats for medical or scientific experimentation to keep records, enhanced animal adoption and close loopholes that prevent cruelty to animal charges in Pennsylvania.   You can also make current laws protecting our pets more effective by adding basic whistleblower protections and holding Pennsylvania kennel operators and dealers who violate federal cruelty to animal laws accountable for their actions

Sincerely,
