Policy Committee Hearings

As the chairman of the Policy Committee, I am privileged to travel the state and take government direct to the people where they live, and take their concerns back to Harrisburg.

On May 15, 2023, the House Majority Policy Committee convened a roundtable at the Delaware County Health Department’s Baldwin Tower to meet with county health officials. The discussion focused on the importance for every county in Pennsylvania to have a health department, and the role they play in maintaining physical and mental wellness in the communities the serve. Following that discussion, committee members traveled to the Delaware County Wellness Center for a tour.

On May 12, 2023 the House Democratic Policy Committee convened a hearing in Delaware County, hosted by Rep. Leanne Krueger, to discuss the need to expand access to contraceptives for Pennsylvanians following recent court rulings that put availability of this vital medication at risk.

The House Democratic Policy Committee traveled to Castle Rock Farm to discuss Pennsylvania’s Horse Industry.

The House Democratic Policy Committee, on May 10, 2023, traveled to Montgomery County to explore ways to better address food insecurity and homelessness across Pennsylvania.

On May 9, 2023, the House Majority Policy Committee convened a roundtable discussion in Montgomery County, hosted by Rep. Napoleon Nelson, to explore how historical preservation can increase tourism and drive economic development.

Taxpayers, public school superintendents, and advocates detailed the reasons cyber and charter school reform is necessary at a House Majority Policy Committee hearing May 8, 2023 in the Stroudsburg High School auditorium.

The House Majority Policy Committee convened a hearing on May 5, 2023 in Delaware County to discuss emergency management services in Pennsylvania and the daily challenges facing these first responders.
